Find off-grid camping spots with full landowner permission, and inspiration for your next adventure
Hiking among the mountains and glens of the Highlands, swimming in secluded lochs, exploring miles and miles of sandy beaches… Scotland is an outdoor adventurer’s paradise.
And it’s right up there as one of top UK destinations for a road trip in your 4x4 camper truck or campervan.
The North Coast 500, a 500-mile trip through the dramatic scenery of the Highlands, is the big one. But there are plenty of lesser-known routes to explore.
We’d recommend catching a ferry to the Isle of Skye and soaking up the rugged landscapes and ancient castles. Or planning your own adventure and going where the wind takes you.
Scotland’s Right to Roam means wild camping in tents is allowed across most of the country. But this rule doesn’t apply to vehicles. There are plenty of ways to get deep off grid and sleep under the stars in your camper, though.
The guys at Off Grid Camp have discovered some incredible spots for off-grid adventures. From hillside crofts to loch-side woodland, you can pay to stay and experience wild, remote, 4x4 awesomeness – all with the landowner’s permission.
